On Him we lean during Covid19

Updated: Apr 29, 2020

During this global pandemic, we have a choice. Who or what will we lean on during these difficult times. When the world is full of uncertainty, God's word remains our only source of truth. Proverbs 3:5 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding."

There are so many voices all around us - the news, social media, television, our neighbors. These voices can be beneficial but they can also be harmful. When we focus our attention on what the wrong voices say, and believe what the world says is true, we become lost. With Covid19 spreading around our world, a lot of us are uncertain about the future. Some of us are afraid of getting sick, some of us are sad and miss our friends and family, some of us are worried... The hope in all of this is that God is in control. It is because of this truth that we should lean on Him. He alone can give us confidence in this ever changing world. C.S. Lewis once said in his book titled "The Problem of Pain,"

“God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”

Perhaps God is using this pandemic to get your attention. Perhaps He wants you to learn to lean on and trust in Hime alone. One thing is certain, God takes what the enemy meant for evil and He turns it for good. We know this to be certain because His word says in Romans 8:28, "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
